While India was getting its hands on Samsung’s premium flagship device Galaxy S8 and S8 plus, Xiaomi launched the Mi6 flagship phone in Beijing today.
Mi6 is Xiaomi’s most ambitious project yet, with a 5.15 inch four-sided 3D curved display. It packs in top notch hardware and performance with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor that is built on the 10 nanometre architecture. This is paired with 6GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. It also comes in a ceramic model with 18k gold detailing. There’s dual speakers and a 3350 man battery. There’s an under-glass fingerprint sensor and a newly splash-proof body with sealed SIM tray.
The camera is in line with the dual lens trend we’re seeing on flagship phones this year. Mi6 packs in a 12 megapixel dual lens unit that offers 2 X Optical Zoom. For video there is 4 axis Optical image Stabilisation too.
The phone, unfortunately does not fit in a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The 64 GB Mi6 variant will sell for 2499 YUAN (currency conversion is approximately Rs. 23,500) and the 128 GB Mi6 will be sold for 2899 YUAN (currency conversion is approximately Rs. 27,200). There’s is no information yet on India launch date, pricing and availability.
